If you want to uncover the fog in the map fully, complete the True Cartographer quest. You will unlock the map in Chapter 2, but it will be covered in fog. In the second quest, when you follow Irvin, you will find your mapping tools. This will unlock the map in the game, but it will be covered with fog. To remove the fog, interact with the hidden map markers, which will clear out the fog in that area. This will also start the “True Cartographer” quest.
Hully Vale



In Hully Vale, when you reach the Tavern, you will see a big Guardian Tower. Then, you need to look left, and you will see a ship stuck on a mountain. This ship is the place where you need to go. Follow the path, but be careful, as there will be 2-3 bandit camps near the area.
Then cross the wooden planks and the bridge in front of you. When you see a large stone, go towards the destroyed house and enter the forest.
From there, turn right and climb uphill. Then turn left and jump into the river and cross the rocks till you find a bandit camp. Now cross the fallen log in front of you, and you will reach the ship. Interact with the glowing blue spot. This will unlock the map in that area.
Backwoods



Go towards the woodcutter’s camp, near the trader Radim. Cross the bridge near the camp and then turn left. The map marker is nearby, and you need to interact with it to unlock the map area.
Outskirts





Go towards the Grayshaft Tavern and turn left. Follow the road towards the High Fort. Take the left path and keep going till you reach the marker. Once you have activated it, you will unlock the Outskirts region.
Grayshaft




Go towards the Grayshaft main gate and make your way to the market square. From the market square go up through the narrow path and then turn left. The marker is hidden in tall grass and bushes. Interact with it to unlock the area.
Crossroads






From Grayshaft, go towards the Free Lands and follow the road till you reach the shore area. Then turn right and look for an old watchtower on the mountain. Climb the top of the tower by going through the stairs. At the top you will find the marker. Interact with it to unlock the area.
The Dark Forest





From the watchtower, go towards the dark forest. Turn left towards the Crossroads and towards the Fort. The area is full of enemies including wolves, insects, and bandits. From the Fort, go towards the tower. At the top of the tower, you will find the marker. Interact with it to unlock the area.
Ivarsby Village



From the Dark Forest camp turn right and follow the road. Once you find the spider filler mountain, you will find some bandits. Defeat them and climb the ruined tower at the end. Activate the marker and you will unlock the area.
Freehold



Climb the tallest tower in the region. To climb the tower, jump across the wooden plank. When you reach the top, you will see two glowing points. Interact with it to activate the marker and unlock the area.
Frozen Valley




Move towards the Frozen Valley, and you will see a bridge going towards a cave. Once inside this valley, follow the road, and you will see a broken fortress. This area is full of powerful skeletons that you need to defeat to climb onto the roof of the fort and activate the marker.
Alpha and Omega





Go towards the north of the Free Hunters region and pass behind the farm. You will pass many mills, but you need to go towards a bridge guarded by a soldier. You will find the marker near the mill. Activate it to unlock the area.
The Mines

You can only unlock this area after Chapter 3. The map marker is located near the mine entrance, so you can find it easily.
