The frozen peaks of Hernand hold more than just biting winds. Hidden within are two of the region’s most sought places : the ancient Sanctum of Benediction and the legendary Soul Spear. Whether you’re looking to solve the Sanctum’s puzzle or arm yourself with the Soul Spear, I got you covered in this guide.
How to Solve Sanctum of Benediction
Head to the location shown in the image, it will be occupied with enemies if you’ve not cleared it already. If you have liberated the sanctum then you’ve been tasked with cleansing it.
As you can see in the image, there are two pieces of the solution missing which are a cube and the pillar’s head.
Where is the Cube?
Make your way down the stairs that is to the right of the sanctum, upon reaching the lower level take right to enter the room, therein lies a cube.
You have to use Kaku Pot and store the cube in the pot. To do that, use the grapple on the cube and then you will be presented with an option to consume it only if you own the Kaku pot which you get by completing chapter 4.
Where is Pillar’s Head?
You can find the pillar’s head in the same sealed room where you get the Leather Helm of the Fallen Kingdom. You have to use the Kaku pot again here to store it in your inventory. After you’ve collected both the missing pieces head back to the sanctum.
Sanctum of Benediction Puzzle Solution
Firstly, move the pillar’s head and cube out of the kaku pot’s storage. Then use Grapple on the pillar’s head and place it on the left pillar. After that, get on top of the pillar and use Aerial Force Palm, this will push the head in place.
Now for the cube, to the right of the sanctum you can see an empty slot. Use grapple on the cube and place it near the slot and use Force Palm on the cube, thus pushing the cube in place.
After inserting the two missing pieces, stand on this platform to activate the Sanctum of Benediction. A cutscene will play shortly after this with the witch who appreciates your effort.
Soul Spear Location
Head to the above location shown in the image, you’ll see a secret entrance that is being guarded by a troll on the mountain. Be cautious before entering as this entire area is filled with enemies.
Once you’ve entered the cave, get down to the marked room which is two levels below. Inside the room, you’ll find the Soul Spear. Unfortunately the exit is the same way you came in, so you have to clear the enemies or you can die and then use the revive option using Palmer Pills which will spawn you outside the cave but with the Soul Spear in your inventory.
