Being a taxi driver in My Winter Car is an easy way to make money in the game. Your job is to pick up people and drive them to where they want to go. For which you will get paid. Before you can start, you need to unlock the job and learn how the taxi meter works. This guide explains everything step by step, so that you can become a taxi driver.
Taxi Driver in My Winter Car
You can become a taxi driver by applying through a flyer on the notice board inside the PSK. As a taxi driver, your job is simple: pick up passengers from around the map and drive them to where they want to go.
How to be a Taxi Driver

The taxi job only unlocks after you buy the Rivett and park it at your parents’ house. Once you’ve done that, a taxi job flyer will appear on the PSK notice board. Call the number on the flyer (08-712112) to apply. After calling, go to the PSK parking lot on the next weekday at exactly 12:00.
You will find the taxi driver sitting inside the taxi. Sit in the passenger seat, and he will explain how the job works and how to use the taxi meter. After that, you’re officially a taxi driver.
If you call the number but don’t show up, or if you arrive and don’t get into the taxi, the driver will disappear, and you won’t be able to get the job again. The following is how a taxi shift works:
- Turn the taxi light on and keep the taximeter in minus mode while you wait for calls.
- When you get a call, turn the taxi light off and switch the taximeter to Mode 1 or Mode 2, depending on the time.
- Drive to the passenger, pick them up, and load their luggage.
- Take them to their destination.
- Once you arrive, turn the taxi light back on, print the receipt, collect the payment, and give them the receipt if they want it. Then unload the luggage.
- Finally, set the taximeter back to minus mode and wait for the next call.
Here’s what each taximeter mode does:
- Minus Mode: This is your idle mode. It turns off the fare and lets you receive calls. Never use it while driving a passenger.
- Mode 1: Sets the fare to 21 MK. Use this on weekdays from 06:00 to 18:00.
- Mode 2: Sets the fare to 32 MK. Use this on weekdays from 18:00 to 06:00 and all day on weekends.
- Mode A: Shows how many kilometres you’ve driven while the meter is on.
- Mode B: Shows your total earnings. This resets when you get paid.
- Lotto Mode: According to the taxi driver, this is for “randomising a lottery line.” It doesn’t seem to have any real use for the taxi job.
As a general rule, keep the taxi light on when you’re waiting for calls or not doing taxi work, and turn it off when you’re heading to pick up a passenger or driving them to their destination.
Bugs in Taxi Driving
If you see the taxi phone flashing like it’s ringing even when you’re not on duty. This is just a visual bug and doesn’t mean you’re actually getting a call. If Minus mode isn’t working properly, switch to Mode 1 or Mode 2 and wait for a phone call instead. Just make sure the red taxi light is turned on; you might end up charging way too much. When getting into the taxi, be careful. The car can sometimes flip or get thrown around when you enter it.
