Fueling your car in My Winter Car is something you’ll need to do often if you want to get anywhere. In this guide, we’ll tell you everything, from understanding fuel types to using the gas station properly, and even fixing common refuelling issues so you can keep your car running without any problem in the game.
How to Fuel Your Car

All vehicles you can drive in My Winter Car need fuel (called polttoaine in Finnish) to run. There are two main fuel types in the game: gasoline and diesel.
Two-stroke fuel might also exist in the game, but it’s not fully confirmed yet since it depends on whether the Jonnez returns. Fuel oil is also likely to make a comeback.
Right now, Teimo’s shop is the only place where you can buy fuel for your vehicles. Fuel prices change every day at 10:00 AM, even on Sundays when the shop is closed. The price changes are random, and there’s no clear limit on how much the price can go up or down.
You’ll find the PSK Peraportti station just outside Prajarvi, right near the highway exit by the construction area. Walk into the station and use the payment machine inside. Put in your credit card and choose how much you want to spend. This amount sets your fuel limit. After that, select the pump you’re using.
Head over to the pump and grab the fuel nozzle meant for cars. Place it properly over your car’s fuel opening. Once it’s lined up correctly, hold down the left mouse button and keep holding it until the car is fully fueled. Don’t let go until the fueling is complete.
Refuelling Your Car Bug
There’s a known bug that can sometimes stop refuelling from working properly, even when you’re doing everything right. If that happens, one easy thing to try is verifying the game files, as there could be some corrupted data.
To do this, right-click MWC in your Steam Library, go to Properties → Game Files → Verify. A lot of people think this option only helps when a game won’t launch, but it can also fix hidden issues while the game is still playable. It’s helped fix similar problems for me in other games before.
If that doesn’t work, you can also try backing up your save file and starting a new game. There’s a chance one of the updates affected your save, which can cause issues like this.
